published:2026-10-08
On the morning of June 5, 2026, the opening ceremony of "Dinosaur Park: Escaping the Dino Mouth" — the first 6D motion-sensing immersive exhibition themed around Chinese dinosaurs — was grandly held at the Natural History Museum of China. Over a hundred guests and media representatives gathered at the venue to jointly witness this important moment where science popularization meets cultural creativity.

At 9:30 a.m., the opening ceremony officially commenced. Leaders and distinguished guests including Xue Li, Party Secretary and Chairperson of the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums; Liu Hui, Party Secretary of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology; Chu Jianhao, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau; and Liu Chaoying, Chairperson of the Beijing Museum Society, attended the ceremony.

Wang Shiwen, Deputy Party Secretary of the museum, introduced the upgraded highlights and scientific significance of the exhibition in her speech. She stated that the renewal of "Dinosaur Park" represents an important practice of empowering science communication through technology and revitalizing natural heritage through innovation. She sincerely invited visitors to come to the museum, step into "Dinosaur Park," and personally experience an immersive adventure into the legend of Chinese dinosaurs.

Li Mengdi, Chairman of Silkroad Visual Technology Co., Ltd., the co-producer, expressed that the team aimed to create not just an exhibition hall, but a major upgrade to Dinosaur Park—a "Dinosaur World" carrying emotional memories. He hopes that children who once looked up at the dinosaur skeletons here twenty years ago can now bring their own children back to rediscover their curiosity and awe for nature.

Following that, the exhibition promotional video was screened on site, showcasing the immersive scenes of the Chinese dinosaur legend and its three original main characters.
At 9:50 a.m., six guests jointly took the stage to unveil the exhibition. As the large screen lit up with the words proclaiming the official launch of the Dinosaur Park: Escaping the Dino Mouth Immersive Exhibition, the newly upgraded Dinosaur Park is ready to receive visitors .

The exhibition takes the growth and championship of the protagonist dinosaur as its core narrative thread, bringing together over 20 species of Chinese dinosaurs. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies including full CG special effects, glasses-free 3D, and 6D motion simulation, and revolving around three original characters — Sinoceratops, Tarbosaurus, and Confuciusornis — it creates an immersive, sensory, and interactive Cretaceous wonderland.
Here, visitors will experience the complete journey of Sinoceratops from hatching to escape and survival: witnessing the moment a baby dinosaur emerges in a glasses-free 3D incubation chamber, confronting the awe-inspiring presence of prehistoric life through a 6-meter-tall mechanical beast, and feeling the adrenaline rush of being pursued by Tarbosaurus in a 6D motion-simulated escape zone.

This is China's first 6D fully immersive dinosaur exhibition in a natural history museum, blending science with digital creativity. With innovative audiovisual interactions, it turns research into real-life experiences, bringing Chinese dinosaurs to life and making science more fun and engaging.
This exhibition is a new experiment by the museum to work with a third-party company in running science programs. It helps make research on Chinese dinosaurs easier for the public to understand and enjoy. It's both a test of new cooperation models and a step toward making museum culture more popular.
