On 30 May 2019, the   3 rd   National Science and Technology Workers Day,   Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST) celebrated   the   National Science and Technology Workers Day and held the First Outstanding Science and Technology Workers’ Commendation Congress. The congress recognized 20   excellent   units, 20 outstanding technological managers, 37 outstanding science and technology workers and 23 outstanding youth science and technology workers.

BMNH’s   Department of Science   Communication   and Department of Scientific Research were honored as “ excellent   unit ”, our staff member s Li Z h u and Zhang Wei were honored as “ outstanding science and technology worker s ”, Xia Xiao f ei was honored as “ outstanding   you ng   science and technology worker ”, and   Guo Meng   was honored as “ outstanding   scientific and technological project   manager .”

In the congress,   Prof.   Guo Guangsheng, President of BJAST, noted that the congress aimed at not only appreciating the workers’ efforts but also encouraging the workers to take on more responsibilities. The congress was a video conference, with one main venue and eight others with live broadcast. It was the first time that BJAST adopted this form   in order to inform and inspire more science and technology workers.
